Lyrics Video: Masal

Please enjoy the lyrics of MASAL (The Tale) and the English translation

MASAL (THE TALE)

Dağın ötesindeki gölü geçince (past the lake behind the mountain)
Daha gün doğmadan iki saat önce (two hours before the sunrise)
Belirir bir saray (a palace appears)
Tam dolunay (There is the full moon)
Soluğun kesilir (You run out of breath)

O sesi duyunca (when you hear that voice)

Nefesi ensendeyse hiç belli etme (Don’t show it even if you feel it’s breath)
Kör elleri geziyorsa bedeninde (If you feel its blind hands over your body)
Soğuyorsa hava (if it’s getting cold)
Daha var sabaha (and there’s still more until the morning)
Nefesini tut ve gözünü kapa (hold your breath and close your eyes)

Duyduğun onun nefesi değil aslında (it’s not its breath that you feel actually)
Ne de korktuğun onun gölgesi (neither its shadow that you fear)
Gerçek gibi olsa da kabuslarında (even though it’s like real in your nightmares)
Sana aittir her biri (they all belong to you)

Karanlıktan beslenmiş, koskoca olmuşlar (they are fat by the darkness, and became giants)
Bir köşeye gömdüğün o canavarlar (those monsters that you have buried down some corner)
Yokmuş gibi davransan da hep ordalar (even if you act like they don’t exist, they are always there)
Dokun onlara birden yok olacaklar (just touch them and they will disappear)

Yeni gün doğar da, (if the sun rises)
saray oradaysa (and the palace is still there)
Elinden bırak o korkuları (just leave those fears)
ve koşa koşa (and go running to that the Palace)
Git o saraya
Sorma bana (don’t even ask me)
Bu masalda kahraman sensin (you are the hero in this tale)
Dağın ötesi de senin (Beyond that mountain is also yours)
Masalda kahraman sensin (you are the hero in this tale)
Dağın ötesi de senin (Beyond the mountain is also yours)
Nefesini tut, (hold your breath)
nefesini tut, (hold your breath)
Nefesini nefesini tut (hold your breath, breath)
Nefesini tut, (hold your breath)
nefesini nefesini tut (hold your breath, breath)
Nefesini tut, nefesini tut, (hold your breath, hold your breath)
nefesini nefesini nefesini (your breath, breath, breath)

Duyduğun onun nefesi değil aslında
Ne de korktuğun onun gölgesi
Gerçek gibi olsa da kabuslarında
Sana aittir her biri

Karanlıktan beslenmiş, koskoca olmuşlar
Bir köşeye gömdüğün o canavarlar
Yokmuş gibi davransan da hep ordalar
Dokun onlara birden yok olacaklar

Dağın ötesindeki gölü geçince
Daha gün doğmadan iki saat önce

Kör elleri geziyorsa bedeninde

Yeni gün doğar da,

Nefesini tut,
nefesini tut,
Nefesini nefesini tut
Nefesini tut,
nefesini nefesini tut
Nefesini tut, nefesini tut,
nefesini nefesini nefesini tut

The Story of MUCIZE

In the beginnings of 2016 I moved to Barcelona. Naturally it took sometime for me to get used to a new city and country. After sometime, I decided to do something related to music again. First I started attending to a choir. We were even having concerts. But I think it’s totally a different experience to write your own song and lyrics. So I discovered that the choir thing was not satisfying me as I thought it would.

So I got my iPad in my hands. Luckily those times a referendum for the presidency system would be held in Turkey. And I decided to write a song to support “NO”… a little positive, a little uplifting (for that reason you hear a lot of NO’s (HAYIR) in the song.

Well, that was a good idea but just writing a song, singing, sharing it with your friends in Facebook… and then what? I decided to think a bit bigger. I asked my friend Idil, who was living in Barcelona then, “shall we make a duet?”

İdil had also helped me a lot with my residence things throughout the stages of my moving to Barcelona. Moreover she was a soloist in a band. She is such a fairy-like person that I knew deep inside that she wouldn’t say no, no matter how occupied she was with her thesis.

After a while we completed the recordings and started developing ideas for the video with other friends who were also living in Barcelona. But we had too little time so nothing came out of it. But MUCIZE (Miracle) remained in my archive until today. It’s one of my favorites in this album thanks to the voice of Idil.

The Story of BAZEN

I think it was 2003 or 2004. Those days my only tool to make music was my keyboard. I could only make use of its own memory card to record songs which I could lose with an electricity cut. How difficult these things were back then!

However I started discovering softwares (such as Sony Vegas Pro) with more technology and internet in our lives. This is how I started to make music on adigital platforms.

In this sense BAZEN is not actually my first song. As soon as I started testing, I wrote a couple of songs, one after another. Those times myspace.com was very popular. So I opened a profile there and immediately uploaded these songs.

Shortly after this, I received an e-mail from an independent internet radio channel in the US saying that they were willing to play three of my songs on their channel and they needed a written agreement signed by me if I agreed. It was obviously easier to reach this type of promotion channels those times.

Whatever, back to the story our song. BAZEN was born on such conditions. I was so motivated by the radio thing that I decided to enter an online song contest held by Nokia. I had one more song besides BAZEN, which was suitable for this contest.

SCHIZOPHRENIA was a song in English. While BAZEN was a very calm song, SCHIZOPHRENIA was quite electronic and extraordinary. I eliminated BAZEN after having listened to the other entries. Eventually I didn’t get any successful result from the contest but saw that BAZEN stayed as the most listened song on myspace in the following years.

After almost 15 years, by the end of 2019, I decided to release an album in turkish and to add BAZEN to this album. It’s one the most important and touchstone songs for me with its music and lyrics. Certainly the music was not like this originally. I had to rewrite it on Garageband on iPad.

Today what you are listening to is it’s new version. I also made a remix version. I wish I had the original one also so you could see the difference. Eventually today we have two BAZENs quite different than the original.
…those which land on each note of my song like the petals of a rose… (from the lyrics of BAZEN)
