So who is Ibrahim Maalouf…

Ibrahim Maalouf (born 5 December 1980) is a French-Lebanese trumpet player and teacher, composer and arranger. He was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and now lives in Paris, France.
Maalouf was born into a Lebanese family of intellectuals and artists; he is the son of trumpeter Nassim Maalouf and pianist Nada Maalouf, nephew of the writer Amin Maalouf and grandson of journalist, poet and musicologist Rushdi Maalouf. He is noted for playing Arabic music with quarter tones on the trumpet, which is a rare skill, pioneered by his father and Don Ellis in the 1960s.

Listen! Buika – Jodida pero Contenta

I am actually making a new collection and planning on setting up a playlist on Spotify. I’m coming across with new people especially after having moved to Barcelona. Obviously music has been one of the ice breakers on making conversations with these new people. I ask them to make a small list of artists or bands, along with a few songs of theirs that they like. The only condition is that these artists or bands shouldn’t be worldwide famous. So no madonnas in the list. In this aspect today’s song is from O&E from Turkey.

Sweet Dreams (Eurythmix Cover)

As I have said before in one of my posts, I have started to cover some songs lately. One of them is the 80’s shining star “Sweet Dreams” from Eurythmix. This time I haven’t touched the lyrics but I changed the song to a somewhat jazzy version. I hope you enjoy.
